Too much, too little

Sometimes I wonder if our life is just too hectic. Today is Saturday, the one and only day we get to selfishly keep Silas all to ourselves since school and football season have begun. However, last night Silas went to bed an hour early, slept 30 minutes late, and is now in the second hour of a morning nap. Richard is back at school for a lovely work day, and here I sit, typing away while much laundry lies in the hamper waiting to be done. Tomorrow is church until lunch and then an afternoon coaches meeting for Richard. How did we get to the point where we never get to just be our little family of three and school has only been back in session for 3 weeks?

I realize that I got accustomed to spending every minute of every day with Silas. Maybe I should have gradually worked my way to a full day without him...but instead, I chose to never spend time away because I new it would end come August. Poor Richard gets about 30 minutes with Silas on weeknights before Si heads to bed, and they aren't always happy minutes. It's major culture shock for the 3 of us.

I'm not sure there is a solution except to come into some grand inheritance from a distant relative that I've never met, or to win the lottery, or to sell the house and our cars, or to move to a town that requires no one to have a job or need money and you just get/have everything you need or want for free. (No, I am not a socialist, just a conservative swimming in wishful thoughts.)

Well, I feel much better now. Ha! If anyone comes up with a solution, let me know. Family- disregard my little rant, we are more than happy to share Silas with you anytime!! :) Here are a few more of Si's pictures at 20 weeks. Ya'll all know he is Serious McGee when the camera comes out...and it hasn't changed!

John Brown and Si might have a little tussle every now and again, but in the end, they are still best buddies!

I loved having "Serious McGee" and his Mama come to visit today. I did finally get a few smiles (a nd quite a few raspberries) when I reminded him that he had feet to play with and to taste! I can't wait to get to see him again!
