Aunt Cait turns 22!

This weekend was Aunt Cait's 22 birthday.

Gigi and G-daddy came down to Dothan to celebrate with us. Lucky for us!!!! and especially Si.

We tried so hard to get a good family picture. You would think that would be a simple task, but, alas, it is much more difficult than it might seem. First, we tried to get one of Chubbs, Mimi, Aunt Cait, and Si.

Next, we tried for Gigi, G-daddy, Chubbs, Mimi, Aunt Cait, and Si.

Yes, I know you are all going to kill me for posting these pics, but they were too funny not to document!! and..."I like it!"

Lottie Moon was so glad to have everyone home.

All in all, Aunt Cait had a wonderful birthday weekend, and we enjoyed it too!!

A little catching up...

Weekend before last, we headed with Mimi and Chubbs to T-town so Aunt Cait could move into her new apartment.

I promise it was 750,000 degrees outside. After the two pack mules hauled load one into the new apartment, Mimi, Cait, and I began the task of unpacking. I'm not quite sure how Caitlin had that much stuff in one bedroom of an apartment... but we did have some fun sorting through it.

After all of that and a quick ride on Doris the elephant, Si did this...

Trust me, it didn't last long, but he was a trooper!!

It just so happens that the new apartment is located on a golf course. Great news for Chubbs and Daddy. The men sloughed off for a round. Before they could head out, we had to correct Chubbs's golf attire. His shirt was tucked in so tightly, not only did he look 108 years old, but we weren't sure he could breathe. When we tried to help him fix it, he pulled his pants up to his neck. HILARIOUS! I didn't quite catch it in time, but at least his shirt is slightly bloused now.

All in all it was an exhausting, yet wonderful weekend. Once we got home Sunday, all of us slept the afternoon away.

In other news, on Thursday, August 5, Si finally decided that he could roll over! He hadn't done it since, until yesterday. When I went to get him after his nap, he was like this.

Gotta love that little chubby thing! Chubbs and Mimi hadn't seen Si in a couple of weeks, so they headed over last night to play and stay with him after bedtime so Richard and I could make a big trip to Walmart. (and by big, I mean that we had 2 cart-fulls and spent a mortgage payment. LOL)

Ok, I think that catches everyone up!

Serious McGee

Silas is 4 months old today! I can't believe how fast he has grown. Of course, as soon as I pulled out the camera, my smiling son disappeared and out came Serious McGee. He spent the whole time studying the camera or practicing his straight face. I promise Si really does know how to smile and does so rather frequently.

When he got bored with my photo shoot, Silas decided to grab and eat the camera strap (while I was taking a picture) and watch a little television.

Who could forget John Brown on such a momentous day?

Check out his sitting skills!!!

Funfetti and Cheese Puffs

After not seeing Si for about a week and a half, Richard's side of our family was fiending for a visit. So we loaded up and headed over to Tisdale Manor in Rehobeth. Of course, when we arrived, Silas was the center of attention.

Thirty minutes later, everyone realized Richard and I had come too. The men went to watch as a repair man mended Grandmother and Granddaddy's air conditioner while the rest of us were entertained by Si. He, without a doubt, loved being a ham.

Grandmother is going to keep Si beginning Wednesday so I can grievously return to work. I really do enjoy my job, but I am completely depressed about leaving Silas all day. I do realize that God timed his birth perfectly so I could have 4 entire months home with him. I also realize how blessed I am that family is able to keep him rather than a daycare. That does not make leaving him any easier. The longest I have been away from him has been 4 hours for VBS and one loooonnnnggg day from 9-4 for a workshop...and his daddy was with him texting me picture updates the entire time. Prayers for this week will be greatly appreciated.

On a happier note, Funfetti cake!!!

Following homemade sub sandwiches with a super-sized bag of cheese puffs, we were able to dine on a piece yummy Funfetti goodness. Nothing says summer like Funfetti and cheese puffs.

Before we left, Silas got in a little more play time.

With a scowl and a tear, Si begrudgingly sat in his carseat for the journey home.
