Si and Coop

Man, these boys have grown!

Half Year Mark

Sweet baby JB has reached the half year mark! I cannot believe it has already been 6 months. I am not really sure how we did life without him as part of our family.

JB sleeps in his crib in his room for every nap and all night now! Don't let the picture below fool you- he still sleeps swaddled. Unswaddled, JB cannot stop rubbing his eyes. He loves his bed and actually refuses to sleep anywhere else now. (He is especially not going to sleep at church on Sundays. Ha!) He is also a champion sitter. I think he loves seeing the world from a new point of view.

JB eats once to twice a day. It kind of depends on the day. He loves rice cereal with fruit, apples, pears, green beans, and squash. Bananas are ok. I did give him a puff the other day. An enormous meltdown ensued. I am thinking we will wait a little while before trying that again. :) Jaby has also started teething. He is constantly sucking in his bottom lip. No teeth yet, but he does have swollen bottom gums.

The little buddy loves to laugh, smile, his big brother, and Rudy! Rudy always makes him happy, and he will try his very best to get to him. Rudy, on the other hand, tries his very best to position himself so that a grown up will pet him and JB can't reach him. He is very sweet to JB but isn't a fan of all the accidental grabbing. Soon, they will be best buddies I think.

(Si took this extremely attractive picture of Rudy and me. LOL! He has decided he is a budding photographer.)

JB's stats are in- Weight: 16 lbs 5.5 oz (28%)
                           Height: 26 in (24%)
                           Head: 44cm (72%) Hahaha!
Silas was a monster compared to tiny JB. Si was 21 lbs 1 oz (98%), 28 3/4 inches tall (91%), and his head was 46 cm (93%). I have to take a picture of JB in his carseat so that we can compare it to Silas. Silas was outgrowing the carseat by 6m and we had to upgrade. JB will fit for quite a long while.

We also headed to Selma this month to Gigi and Gdaddy's house before school starts back. JB got to meet Amy and Anna Reed for the first time. We are blessed with such a wonderful family.

Can't end without a comparison picture!

Happy Half Year Baby Jaby!

Not sure why it is blurry, but we are proud of his success!

Baby Jaby 5 months

JB is five months old and I cannot believe it! How did time pass so quickly? JB is truly the happiest baby on the planet, but when he isn't- he is truly the unhappiest baby on the planet. Ha! He has the shrillest squeak/scream (depending on what he is trying to tell you). And, Baby Jaby is definitely a mama's boy. He loves to be in my arms! (Let's just say it is a 50/50 shot whether or not the nursery is going to have to come get me each Sunday.) He isn't as snuggly as Silas though, preferring to be in his crib or the cradle to sleep rather than being held and rocked. (As you can see from our pictures, we are going for the little to no clothes or pj's option this summer. Hahaha!)

We haven't given JB any cereal/food just yet, but we probably will feed him for the first time this weekend. I was waiting until Richard got home from Slovenia so he wouldn't miss it. :) Currently, JB eats 7 oz every feeding. We began adding some cereal to his bottles to help with spit up and it worked miracles! I never knew a baby could spit up so much! Yuck!

JB loves the pool. He has enjoyed cooling off in Mrs. Laurie's at least one day a week this summer. It will become much easier in another month when he can wear sunscreen.

He especially loves Silas! Si is apparently the funniest human on the planet. I finally remembered to take some pictures of JB with Grandmother and Granddaddy. Also, this month, JB got to meet Irene for the first time! Such a special moment.

I am loving watching Baby Jaby grow and develop each and every day. He has now learned to roll from his back to his stomach- and did it for the first time on Father's Day! His favorite spot is the bouncer. He is too short and light to reach the ground in it, but that was nothing the Wii balance board couldn't fix. JB is beginning to chunk up for the first time in his life. It is funny to see his face getting rounder. He is finally wearing some 6m clothes, but most of his handmade gowns still fit as well. (I am thankful for that. ;) )

And I couldn't leave you without our 5 month John Brown pictures. Here he is!

Here is Silas at 5 months to compare.

And a couple of smiles to go.

Summer Fun

So far this summer, we have had a blast! It has been great being home with the boys. The first few pictures are of backyard fun with "the Harrell kids". They love playing with each other! We have truly been blessed with wonderful neighbors.

They sure have grown up in the last couple of years!

Also, Daddy turned the big 34. Silas was determined that he would have a cookie cake and blow out the candles. I mean, you can't have a birthday without cookie cake. JB wasn't sure about the whole thing.

Not the greatest, but at least we do have a family shot. Sort of...

We took all of the boys to Big Fun for a cooler play option one day this summer. They had a blast!
L to R: Silas, JB, Logan, Jackson, Cooper

Here are just a few more random shots from the summer so far. :)
