Baby Jaby 5 months

JB is five months old and I cannot believe it! How did time pass so quickly? JB is truly the happiest baby on the planet, but when he isn't- he is truly the unhappiest baby on the planet. Ha! He has the shrillest squeak/scream (depending on what he is trying to tell you). And, Baby Jaby is definitely a mama's boy. He loves to be in my arms! (Let's just say it is a 50/50 shot whether or not the nursery is going to have to come get me each Sunday.) He isn't as snuggly as Silas though, preferring to be in his crib or the cradle to sleep rather than being held and rocked. (As you can see from our pictures, we are going for the little to no clothes or pj's option this summer. Hahaha!)

We haven't given JB any cereal/food just yet, but we probably will feed him for the first time this weekend. I was waiting until Richard got home from Slovenia so he wouldn't miss it. :) Currently, JB eats 7 oz every feeding. We began adding some cereal to his bottles to help with spit up and it worked miracles! I never knew a baby could spit up so much! Yuck!

JB loves the pool. He has enjoyed cooling off in Mrs. Laurie's at least one day a week this summer. It will become much easier in another month when he can wear sunscreen.

He especially loves Silas! Si is apparently the funniest human on the planet. I finally remembered to take some pictures of JB with Grandmother and Granddaddy. Also, this month, JB got to meet Irene for the first time! Such a special moment.

I am loving watching Baby Jaby grow and develop each and every day. He has now learned to roll from his back to his stomach- and did it for the first time on Father's Day! His favorite spot is the bouncer. He is too short and light to reach the ground in it, but that was nothing the Wii balance board couldn't fix. JB is beginning to chunk up for the first time in his life. It is funny to see his face getting rounder. He is finally wearing some 6m clothes, but most of his handmade gowns still fit as well. (I am thankful for that. ;) )

And I couldn't leave you without our 5 month John Brown pictures. Here he is!

Here is Silas at 5 months to compare.

And a couple of smiles to go.

Summer Fun

So far this summer, we have had a blast! It has been great being home with the boys. The first few pictures are of backyard fun with "the Harrell kids". They love playing with each other! We have truly been blessed with wonderful neighbors.

They sure have grown up in the last couple of years!

Also, Daddy turned the big 34. Silas was determined that he would have a cookie cake and blow out the candles. I mean, you can't have a birthday without cookie cake. JB wasn't sure about the whole thing.

Not the greatest, but at least we do have a family shot. Sort of...

We took all of the boys to Big Fun for a cooler play option one day this summer. They had a blast!

Here are just a few more random shots from the summer so far. :)

JB- 4 months old

JB is four months old! I cannot believe how quickly time is passing with number two.

JB is a perfect blessing weighing in at a big 14 pounds 3 ounces (22%) and measuring 24 and 3/4 inches (29%). His head was 42 cm which is in the 60%- no surprise there as it is obvious from Silas that we have big headed babies. I mean, their exceptionally large brain has to fit somewhere, right?

As far as sleeping goes, JB is still in the cradle in our room. :) I love having him there although I do think it will be coming to an end soon because he is beginning to wiggle out of the boppy. As Mrs. Laurie says, JB is a lot like Elf- "Smiling is his favorite." He is either one million percent happy or one million percent not. There is not any in between. Silas was such a laid back Serious McGee that having JB's easy smiles around is still such a shock. It takes no work to make him smile. Just a look does the trick. I love having a smiley baby!

JB got to meet Nannan and Aunt Mary for the first time this week. He, of course, loved all of the extra attention. This picture is right before dinner, so he was a little on the hungry side.

The playmat is one of JB's favorite places first thing in the morning. He still doesn't love being on his stomach and usually flips as soon as he gets the opportunity. Most of his naps take place in the swing- especially his long morning nap. And he tried out the jumper this week. It was a hit! He isn't bouncing, of course, but he does spin all around. He loves the freedom of standing up.

This is a picture of sweet baby JB (or Baby Jaby as Cici lovingly coined him) after his shots today. He was exhausted after a day packed full: VBS with short cat naps, lunch, and his check up.

Mother's Day 2014

Mother's Day 2013 was a tough day for me. Yes, God had blessed me with a wonderful, adorable, smart, loving son. However, we were at the fourteen months of infertility mark. I was emotional and angry. Our pastor preached on infertility that morning to add to it. What. A. Day. Little did I know that three weeks later, Memorial Day weekend, I would find out that God was blessing us with another child. And it just happened to be another wonderful, adorable, smart, loving son. This year Mother's Day has an entirely new feeling. I feel grateful and blessed. I thank God every day for the wonderful treasures He has given Richard and me to raise to love Him more than anything. Happy Mother's Day!

4 year and 2 month Check Ups

I just wanted to post these pictures as a memory of the boys' check ups. It was their first doctor visit together and Silas was stoked to show off JB. Please note Silas's prescription... Thanks Doc Rams!

Silas picked out JB's stickers while he got his immunizations. Of course, JB had to sport them the remainder of the day. :)
